Heart Nebula – Providence, RI – 8.8 Hours Integration

Final version of the Heart Nebula project with my broadband data and three days worth of narrow band data all put together. Note, that for most of these the Moon was either full or close to it, so there was a lot of ambient light beyond the typical light pollution I suffer from. I will be creating a portfolio on Pixieset specifically for Heart Nebula images for purchase. For other images, please visit SNC Astro on Pixieset.

Moon – Selma, AL – 8/9/08

This past weekend, my brothers and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit some of our real good friends who live in Selma, Alabama. I took my telescope because I knew they lived in tghe country, and it would be dark. I was able to get some really good images. To keep with my Moon theme, here is a shot of the moon. More to come later!

Like the last post, here is the Moon from tonight, plus the difference in phase from the past three nights. I have some shots more up close, both from last night and tonight, and when I get around to processing them, I will post them.

Ursa Major – The Rest of the Big Dipper

Last night I posted a picture featuring Mizar and Alcor, a nice double star located in the handle of the Big Dipper, an asterism in the constellation Ursa Major. Well, I did not get all of the Big Dipper in the shot, so here is the rest of the Big Dipper.

Lyra, upclose – 7/31/08

I decided to go 55mm instead of 18mm and get “close in” shots. This is the first one I have processed, and I have a few more which I will get on here in a little bit. Again, these can also be made for desktop backgrounds, just let me know if you want one.
